Exeter Science Park has welcomed its latest tenant – Aqua Consultants, a company which provides professional services to the water, energy and environment sectors across the UK.

With its headquarters in Bradford, Aqua Consultants wanted to find a base in the south west. It selected Exeter Science Park for its location, sense of community and proximity to existing clients and partners.

Aqua Consultants helps organisations reduce the cost, carbon and energy impact of asset ownership. It combines technology, engineering and management consultancy to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for its clients.

Neal Edmondson, client director at Aqua Consultants, said the company, which was established 15 years ago, had seen significant growth in recent years and now employed around 100 people.

He added: “There was always a plan to expand quite widely and we now have people based all over the country. We have a lot of clients in the south west and Exeter Science Park is far enough away from Bradford, making it an ideal situation. We liked the fact we could take the size of office that suits our needs, but there are facilities to grow and take larger units as the business grows.

“As well as proximity to clients and partners, it is a really great facility, with like-minded businesses, such as Engineers Gate and Stantec and other partners or clients. Another aspect which really appeals is the café on the site and the real sense of community among the companies who are based here.”

The Met Office, Environment Agency and South West Water are amongst the organisations with which Aqua Consultants works.

Jason Buck, senior business development manager at Exeter Science Park, said: “We are delighted to welcome Aqua Consultants to our growing community of businesses here at Exeter Science Park. Our accessible location is perfect for their team and we’re looking forward to seeing the company develop in the coming years.

“Exeter Science Park has developed over recent years and is now a well-established location for companies focused on STEMM in the south west. Through the careful creation of office and lab space, we have developed a park which has facilities for all types of organisation, from start-ups to well established businesses and it’s a privilege for us to be able to play a role in the development of those organisations.”
