Based in the Science Park Centre, Exeter Science Park Limited is run by a core team of dedicated professionals.
Dr Sally Basker
Chief Executive
Dr Sally Basker is a qualified engineer with 15 years’ senior level research and innovation experience in the aerospace, defence, energy, and navigation sectors. She has extensive business management experience, and has been responsible for crafting business cases, attracting funds and procuring multi-million-pound research facilities.
Sally is responsible for developing Exeter Science Park as a hub for innovative STEMM enterprises across the region and beyond, to deliver new jobs, enhanced productivity and economic growth.

Matt Roach
Head of Operations
Matt, a qualified Chartered accountant, was formerly Managing Director at Exeter Airport for nine years.
He leads on the operational aspects of Exeter Science Park and will work collaboratively to develop and implement our strategy for growth.
Matt will also be working closely with our Client Services Team Leader, David Morgan, to further develop the food & drink and community services offer at the park.

Carrie Piper
Head of Finance and Support Services
Carrie is responsible for the overall management of the Park’s financial operations, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team and collaborate with Board, Shareholders, Partners and other stakeholders to support the Park and its tenants in their continued growth.
Carrie’s role focuses on developing financial strategies, systems and processes to enhance Exeter Science Park’s ability to facilitate growth, promote sustainability and make Exeter Science Park the region’s destination for ambitious, science-based organisations.
A Chartered Management Accountant, Carrie’s senior-level, finance business partnering experience has supported growth in both the public and private sectors, including at South Devon College, the Met Office and the Environment Agency as well as the Duo Group and the Wrigley Company.

Jason Buck
Senior Business Development Manager
Jason previously managed the inward investment function at the TDA, Torbay Council’s Economic Development Company. In this role he worked on expansion and location projects for many hi tech, med tech and advanced manufacturing companies.
In addition to this, he was instrumental in the founding of the Torbay Hi Tech Cluster. He also led on a successful account management programme working with many of Torbay’s strategically significant businesses.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Jason leads on maximising the occupancy across the science park of lab and office space, promoting the event and conferencing facilities, and leading the development of new products and services for park businesses.

James Carr
Facilities Manager
James is responsible for the facilities management processes across the campus and for ensuring the efficient operations of our buildings and services. Working closely with our Head of Property, James helps to provide the right space, support and environment for our tenants to thrive.
James has over 15 years’ experience in the discipline and holds a foundation degree Facilities Management.

Matt Semmens
Management Accountant
Matt supports the finance and accounts operation of Exeter Science Park. Working closely with our Senior Finance Manager, he is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and the company’s strategic financial direction.
Matt began his career as an accountancy apprentice with Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police, where he later became an Accountant Technician. He is an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified accountant and is also studying towards a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.

David Morgan
Client Services Team Leader
David is the first point of contact for the Science Park Centre, greeting tenants, visitors and guests.
As well as managing day-to-day enquiries and keeping all administration up to date, David also supports in organising and setting up events in our conference space.

Grace Platt
Business Development Co-ordinator
Grace works closely with our Senior Business Development Manager in delivery of effective marketing campaigns and events, PR activity, and ongoing communications. Grace works with our park business community in the development and delivery of relevant events and services that support their growth.
Grace is highly experienced in office management, administration, and secretarial roles, with a background in banking and finance, with the NHS and at the University of Exeter.

Anne Beadon
Executive Assistant to the CEO
With a background in law and business management, both in the public and private sector including the civil service and higher education, Anne has extensive experience in managing teams and marketing & design operations. She works closely with the CEO, as well as the Science Park’s executive team, board of directors and shareholders and is responsible for managing the internal systems and processes.
