We have an onsite four-star net zero carbon hotel, the voco Zeal by IHG, located opposite our Science Park Centre which features a welcoming reception, a variety of events and meeting rooms, and an on-site café with catering facilities-providing everything you need to support your team and impress your clients.

HyphaPro
Who are they?
HyphaPro is a fungal precision fermentation company developing sustainable alternatives to eggs and other animal-derived proteins. Their fungal and engineering expertise enables scalable, animal-free production of high-value proteins, without the volatility of traditional sourcing from animals.
HyphaPro is initially focusing on functional egg proteins for the food and nutrition industries, with the aim of developing more sustainable, consistent and functional alternatives to conventional egg-derived ingredients.
Why Exeter Science Park?
As an early-stage biotechnology company, access to suitable laboratory space was essential for HyphaPro to begin developing its technology. Exeter Science Park provided the laboratory facilities we needed, while its proximity to the University of Exeter provides access to a strong scientific and graduate talent pool.
The Science Park’s transport and conferencing facilities are also valuable as we work with collaborators and partners, while programmes and support such as SETsquared and the Entrepreneurial Impact Accelerator (EIA) have provided additional opportunities to develop the business.
Impact on the business
Being based at Exeter Science Park has allowed HyphaPro to establish and develop its laboratory operations while remaining connected to the wider scientific and entrepreneurial community. Dedicated laboratory space allows the team to carry out R&D in-house and build the infrastructure needed to take their technology forward.
